2024-2025  Council Officers Fr. John Mrozek II Chaplain The chaplain is the spiritual adviser of the council. He is expected to make a report at council meetings on religious matters. The grand knight appoints a priest in accordance with any rules established by the bishop of the diocese to serve as council chaplain. Chris Mancinelli Grand Knight GKkofc9597@gmail.com The grand knight is responsible for the welfare of the council. He presides over council meetings, acts as an ex-officio member of all committees, appoints a membership and programming director, convenes officers for a monthly meeting, and ensures all necessary reports are submitted to the state and Supreme Council. He should also be aware of the council’s financial status and ensure that his signature appears on all checks drawn. The grand knight is a member of the Advisory Board with general supervision of the council’s Columbian Squire circle. Tim Young Deputy Grand Knight KofC9597+DGK@gmail.com The deputy grand knight is second in command. He assists the grand knight with council affairs and fulfills all duties assigned to him by the grand knight. Should the grand knight be absent from a council meeting, the deputy grand knight will preside. He is chairman of the council’s retention committee and also a member of the Advisory Board charged with overseeing the council’s sponsored Columbian Squires circle. Chris Thielke Chancellor KofC9597+Chancellor@gmail.com The chancellor has a variety of responsibilities. Primarily, he assists the grand knight and the deputy grand knight in the execution of their duties and oversees the council in both their absences. He is charged with strengthening the members’ interests in council activities. The chancellor is chairman of the admission committee and a member of the Columbian Squires circle ceremonial team. Austin Burns Recorder KofC9597.Recorder@gmail.com The recorder is similar to a court reporter or a secretary. He is responsible for maintaining a true record of all actions of the council and it’s correspondence. Sean Hudson Financial Secretary KofC9597+FS@gmail.com The financial secretary is appointed by the supreme knight, upon recommendation of the council. His main area of responsibilities is maintaining all financial and membership records. He collects and receives all moneys from all sources, including annual dues from council members. He also handles supply orders for the council officers and members, filing the Report of Officer (#185), and submitting all membership transactions to the Supreme Council. Lecturer This post is vacant The lecturer is appointed by the grand knight to provide both educational and entertaining programs to the council. He is responsible for the ‘Good of the Order’ portion of council meetings. In order to provide members with informative and educational programs, he must be knowledgeable and aware of all council programming. Paul Egan Treasurer KofC9597+$$@gmail.com The treasurer is responsible for the safekeeping and maintaining records of all council funds and accounts. He is responsible for depositing money into the council’s accounts and provides a certificate of such monies to the grand knight. He is also responsible for payment of all expenses. Marcus Riots Advocate The advocate is the legal representative of the council and serves as the council’s attorney at trials and investigations of any interest to the council. While he does not need to be a member of the legal profession, he should be familiar with the council by-laws, the Order’s Charter, Constitution and Laws (#30), Methods of Conducting a Council Meeting (#1937), and Robert’s Rules of Order. Rory Krieger Warden The warden shall be present at all meetings of his council, and at the opening of the same. He shall have charge of all the council property, except moneys and account and record books of officers, and keep the same in proper condition for the meeting of his council. He shall instruct his guards in their duties and appoint the same at pleasure, and perform such other duties as may be imposed by his council. George Johnson Guard Guards: The Inside Guard shall attend the entrance to the council chamber, through its inner door; the Outside Guard, the entrance through the outer door; and each shall perform such other duties as may be imposed by the council. John Pickard Trustee 3rd Year The Board of Trustees shall consist of the Grand Knight and three members to be elected by the council. The Grand Knight shall be its chairman. At the first election of a new council, three trustees shall be elected, one to hold office for one year or until the next regular election, one for two years or until the second next regular election, and the other for three years or until the third next regular election, as determined by lot among themselves. Thereafter, at each succeeding election, one Trustee shall be chosen for a term of three years. The Trustees shall have supervision of all the financial business of the council and their approval shall be necessary for the payment of all moneys except Benefit Fund moneys and demands of the Supreme Council or Board of Directors or State Council, and the regular and usual stated payments of the council, and payments authorized by the council after notice and vote in accordance with Section 122. They shall audit the accounts of the Financial Secretary and Treasurer at least every six months, and in January and July report thereon to their council, State Deputy, District Deputy, and Supreme Secretary, upon blanks approved by the Board of Directors and furnished by the Supreme Council. They shall see that the Financial Secretary and Treasurer give proper bonds running to the Knights of Columbus in trust for their particular council and in amounts fixed by said trustees, and they shall be the custodians of such bonds. But in case the Board of Directors shall bond such officers, the trustees shall be charged only with fixing the amount of such bonds in excess of the amount provided for by said Board of Directors, and in such case, they shall have evidence that said officers shall have been bonded in such excess amount. They shall perform such other duties as their council or the District Deputy or Territorial Deputy or the officers of the Order may direct.
