Our Lady of Fatima Knights of Columbus are selling Palisade peaches and pears. All proceeds will go to seminarians studying for the religious life.
The Knights will take orders at weekend Masses July 15/16 through August 5/6. The fruit will arrive for pick up Saturday, August 26. If you will not be at Fatima for Mass, but still want to purchase peaches or pears, please download this order form.
If you are not a peach or pear person, but want to support the Knights, you may make a monetary donation to the program using this order form or at www.kofc9597.org/peaches. If you are purchasing fruit and would like to make a monetary donation over & above your purchase, the Knights will gladly accept your donation.
Orders will be available for pick up Saturday, August 26, 8:00am-12:00pm in the Fatima School parking lot on 20th Avenue. If you cannot pick it up at that time, you may give your receipt to a friend to pick up your order for you. Orders not picked up the morning of Saturday, August 26 will be placed in the Parish Hall, labeled with the buyer’s names, and will be available for pick up during Masses on Sunday, August 27. Orders not picked up by Sunday, August 27 will be donated to charity.

Ben LaCrue Obituary
Brother Knights,
Last month Bro. Ben LaCrue went to his eternal reward at age 98. Until about 10 years ago, Ben used to help us at our pancake breakfasts and he always showed up to our Keep Christ in Christmas dinners. His obituary was finally placed on the internet and I have copied it and placed it below for your review.

Tootsie Roll Campaign
Brother Knights,
Every year Knights of Columbus councils stand in front of local businesses and solicit donations for the developmentally/intellectually disabled and at the same time give away tootsie rolls. Our council has traditionally solicited in front of three King Soopers stores (Colfax/Quail – 34th & Youngfield – S Golden Road) during the month of September.
I will be reserving the stores in the coming days and need to know those Saturdays in September that will not be good for you to help out with the solicitations because of prior commitments. King Soopers will only allow us to solicit outside their stores for a total of 4 hours per day. So I will be asking for time periods from 9:00am to 1:00pm and 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
Please check your calendars and let me know those Saturdays in September where you will NOT be able to help us with our tootsie roll solicitations and then email those dates to me. I will do the best to reserve the stores for those dates that work the best for the membership.
Thanks for your help!

Council Free Throw Contest
Annual free throw contest was on February 7th. There was good turnout of participants.
Exemplification and Farewell – May 24th
Brother Knights,
We will be celebrating an Exemplification on May 24th at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall. In addition to welcoming a number of new Brothers into the Knights, we will be saying farewell to Brother Keith Mobley who is moving off to Florida. We will have hamburgers and hot dogs and some drinks afterwards and we are asking you to bring a side dish or dessert that goes with such a fine fare. The link below will take you to the sign up genius for bringing a side dish and to RSVP that you will be coming so we know how many hamburgers and hot dogs we need to prepare.
See you all on the 24th.
Vivat Jesus,
JPickard GK
