Knights say “Thank You”

The Knights of Columbus Council 9597 extends to all a giant THANK YOU to the parishioners at Our Lady of Fatima and their friends and extended families for your fantastic support of our 2020 Peaches for Seminarians Donation program!  In absence of our regular peach program, the Knights received donations totaling in excess of $9,500 which will allow us to provide $500 each to 19 seminarians in their journey to become priests.

As a way of showing our appreciation for your tremendous support of our program, the Knights have a special gift for each of the donors.  You may pick up your gift anytime in the basket at the Miller St. entrance.

The Knights would also like to thank the OLF staff for all of their support, especially for accepting and processing the donations that were mailed or dropped by the church office.

The Knights are looking forward to 2021 with the anticipation for a great peach crop to be produced by the fruitgrowers in the Palisade valley in western Colorado.

“Cheers To Life” Sales Help Needed After ll Masses

Brothers

We will be selling the tickets to this year’s Knights Ultrasound Fundraising Event, “Cheers to Life” again this weekend (Feb 20-21) after all masses. I know we have the pancake breakfast as well so a lot of activity however it is a great opportunity for us to be in front of the parish for the cause. As a reminder, the event is being held on April 23rd from 6:30 to 9pm in the OLF school gymnasium and the cost remains at $45 per ticket. As in the previous weekend, we will need assistance selling tickets after all the masses until we reach our goal of selling 250 tickets. It is our most ambitious event to date however we are encouraged by the tremendous results last year, and we are called by the Holy Spirit to continue our efforts in support of respecting the sanctity of life in all of its stages.

We will need brothers to man the sales table after all masses for the weekend of Feb 20-21. This year we will also be accepting credit cards using the “Square” on iPhones and iPads. Please contact Br. Ritchey  if you will be able to assist after masses this weekend. Woody will be at all the masses in support of the sales. Thanks in advance all you do to make “Cheers to Life!” such a terrific event.

Keep Christ In Christmas Dinner Coming Soon

Our council’s annual KCIC dinner will be held after the 5 pm Mass on Saturday, December 5th.  We would love to see every member of our council there!

Brother knights are encouraged to bring a side or salad to share.  We already have volunteers bringing turkey, ham, and mashed potatoes with gravy.

I am assured that St. Nick will be making his annual appearance.  PLEASE NOTE: Unlike in previous years, St. Nick will NOT be distributing gifts from families to the children!  He will distribute traditional symbols of his ministry to every child present, and be available for photos.

Recepient of CPID funds to be featured on ABC television program

Here is a nice story about how one of the organizations that is supported by our council is being recognized for their efforts to help some of the neediest among us.
