This Saturday, Oct. 19th, the council will have a team to clean up on 15th Place between Miller St. and Kipling. Activities will start at 8 am and are expected to take less than an hour. Brother Knight Norbert Boeckman will have all the supplies you might need. This program is one of the ways we serve our larger community outside the parish, and is part of our “Helping Hands” required program. If you have a few minutes to help with our chores before getting going on your own honey-do list, we’d be happy to see you!
Exemplification and Social October 22nd
Brother Knights, We have the opportunity to welcome several new members to our Council Tuesday night the 22nd of October. We will be holding an Exemplification at 6:00 pm followed by a social to welcome our new members in the Parish Hall. It would be very impressive if we could have a good showing of members to welcome our new Brother Knights into our Council.
The Council will provide a variety of drinks. If you can make it we ask that you bring a nice hors d’oeuvre or snack to share. The Social will begin at about 6:45, or when we are done with the Exemplification.
Council Picnic
Please join us for our annual Council 9597 picnic on July 13th at 6:00 (after the 5:00 Saturday mass) in the parish center. All council members and their families are welcome. Please bring a side dish if your last name ends in A-P and a dessert if your last name ends in Q-Z.
Hamburgers, hot dogs and brats as well as beer, wine and lemonade will be provided along with a celebration cake.
Help setting up and cleaning up is always welcome. Set-up starts at 4:00 and cleanup after the food is gone.
Come support the Council and have a great time…

Invitation to Ultrasound Dedication
Brother Knights, please see the linked document with details on the dedication ceremony for the ultrasound machine we purchased with proceeds from last year’s “Cheers! To Life!” event. You may remember that this machine was dedicated to the memory of Drake Durkee, a young parishioner and student at our parish school taken from us far too soon. Updates on Tom Martinez
Just a quick note to let everyone know that they can get updates from Tom’s family by visiting https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/tommartinez
If you are looking for an opportunity to help out Lynn and their children with meals, you can sign up at https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/olz5md
The GoFundMe page has been set up soon to help the family financially. It is at https://gofundme.com/tom-martinez-family There are also links available at the CaringBridge site, and our council webpage.
Most importantly, pray for Tom and his family! St. Lucy is the patron saint for eyes and asking for the intercession of Fr. McGivney is always appropriate.
“Cheers To Life” Sales Help Needed After ll Masses
Keep Christ In Christmas Dinner Coming Soon
Our council’s annual KCIC dinner will be held after the 5 pm Mass on Saturday, December 5th. We would love to see every member of our council there!
Brother knights are encouraged to bring a side or salad to share. We already have volunteers bringing turkey, ham, and mashed potatoes with gravy.
I am assured that St. Nick will be making his annual appearance. PLEASE NOTE: Unlike in previous years, St. Nick will NOT be distributing gifts from families to the children! He will distribute traditional symbols of his ministry to every child present, and be available for photos.
