R.I.P. SK John Di Nucci

It is my sad duty to pass along the news just received that Sir Knight John Di Nucci (Honorary Life member of both the 3rd and 4th Degree) passed into the arms of our God and Savior yesterday, Jan 23, 2015 at 12:40 PM.  His wife Mary had passed awhile back.  SK John had moved back East to be closer to his family.  SK John was just four days shy of his 92nd birthday.
Some interesting facts about SK John (born Jan 27, 1923 and died Jan 23, 2015):
1.  He joined the Knights and achieved his 1st, 2nd and 3rd Degrees on Feb. 01, 1951.  He was a Knight for 63 years, 11 months and 8 days!
2.  He became a Fourth Degree Knight on Feb 1, 1953.  A Sir Knight for 61 years, 11 months and 8 days!
3.  He served in the US Navy during WWII and was associated with the Manhattan project.
4.  He was a member of Council 9597 and Assembly 2551.
SK John always had a “twinkle” in his eye and was a true Navy man when it came to enjoying life.  He could have been a radio announcer with his deep voice and his wry sense of humor.  He always had that “New York” – east coast – accent that managed to capture the moment of any discussion with a wee bit of sarcasm.
SK John and his wife Mary will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery sometime this coming summer; no further details available at this time.
For those of us that knew John, and those that missed meeting him,  it is fair to say:  A Great Catholic Gentleman has returned home to be with our God!
